Free yoga in London

Free yoga in London I hear you say?!  Yep, I’m the same when I hear the word ‘free’ I can’t help it, my ears prick up a little.  I’m always especially happy when it’s relates to the things I really like such as cocktails, food and yoga, to name a few.

One of the great benefits of free yoga, especially in London is that you get to try before you buy.  Committing to a new studio and teacher with the often hefty monthly fee can be a pretty big investment.  Mess up and you’ll be spitting feathers while your downward dogging and i’ll be honest that’s something none of us need to see.

So for the best free yoga in London, here’s the ultimate list.  It contains your first class freebies or super cheap first timers, some I have tried and others come with recommendations I’ve heard along the yoga grapevine.

Don’t forget to share your experiences and any extras in the comments below, London’s bloody massive so it’s likely I’ve missed a few.

My free Yoga in London recommendations.

The Light Centre, Moorgate.

The Light Centre offer a free first class and a beautiful space to do it in.  Just by Moorgate Station and not far from Liverpool Street or Bank, there’s a great healthy cafe joined on to it too.

Good Vibes Yoga, Covent Garden and Fitzrovia.

Offering two central studios, they even advertise that they love beginners.  You can get a free first class and a 30 days for £45 deal.

Iyengar Yoga Institute, Maida Vale.

For those that have never done Iyengar before I’d say there’s no better place to try it for the first time.  Their free classes are specifically for newbies.

Battersea Yoga, Battersea.

Just off Battersea Park, the yoga studio offers free Hatha Yoga classes currently on a Monday, along with reduced priced community classes for just a fiver.

Yoga Forever, Balham and Streatham.

These classes are led by Nell.  I haven’t been but she has some pretty rave reviews and the first class is free.

Sweaty Betty, Shoreditch, Islington, Chelsea and East Dulwich…to name a few.

The waiting list fills up pretty sharpish, but according to their website they offer over 70 free classes a week and not all just yoga.  As they are all across London (and beyond) there’s bound to be something pop up for you.

Lululemon, Spitalfields and the City.

Again lots of lovely free classes, including yoga and their ‘Chasing lights’ running sessions.

The Refinery, Hackney.

In the now very vibey Well Street area of Homerton, a basement yoga centre that has a super cool website and even cooler studios.  I have done a few classes here and loved them all.  £5 first class for newbies and 10 day trial period for £35.

Paperdress, Hackney.

Newly opened in 2017 and a wonderful addition to their bustling vintage shop, Paperdress Yoga offer a half price first class, plus community classes on a Monday evening and Thursday morning.  Fancy doing more with them and you can get a 10 days for £20 deal.

Hayley Yoga, Walthamstow.

I haven’t done a class with her myself, but she has an ACE name and she came recommended from a friend.  Her Monday evening classes are donation based.

Don’t forget to add your additions below and share the free yoga in London love with your friends!
